She has sacrificed much to have a life in art. She is curious about pursuing different styles from tightly controlled striped paintings, to loosely applied painted beach scenes, to full on abstractions whose content is the arc of her hand and the movement of the brush.
The paintings share one common trait. They are beautiful. Kristen is at a point where she is clearly enjoying mark making. There is a bravura to the paintings. They are easy to live with. They daily reveal something new- a daub of paint you might not have noticed the day before. A color that shimmers differently.
Kristen loves the L.A. Dodgers. It's been said before that baseball is linear while football is global. In Kristen's case, her work has a certain linear quality to how each mark leads to the next. Fortunately for us she hits home runs.
